Links with the CEPE

The Centre d’étude sur la pauvreté et l’exclusion (CEPE) Link to external site. is a place for observation, research and exchange aimed at providing reliable and rigorous data on poverty and social exclusion. Reporting to the Ministère du Travail, de l'Emploi et de la Solidarité sociale, the CEPE works with a management committee composed of representatives of the government, academic and research communities and anti-poverty workers recommended to it by the advisory committee.

One of the main mandates of the CEPE is to design and propose indicators for measuring poverty and social exclusion, so the advisory committee maintains close ties with it, particularly with regard to its fulfilment of the mandate entrusted to it under the Act. This mandate consists of making recommendations as to targets for improving the income of low-income individuals and families and as to the means of achieving these targets.
